There are a few videos circulating on TikTok recently, where many people share a common problem related to their eyes and blinking, especially after spending hours in front of the computer. Doctor Karan Rajan tells HuffPost that many people attribute this to fatigue, too much caffeine or not getting enough sleep.
"In fact, working in front of the computer for many hours without interruption directly affects the health of the eyes, leading to their dryness and vision problems," he says.
But, this doctor recommends that there is a method that you can use if you want to not have problems with blinking eyes or what many people identify as "nervous tics". This is called the "20/20/20" method and if you apply it often you will see satisfactory results, according to the doctor.

What is this technique?
"Every 20 minutes, take a break and look at something at least 20 meters away, for at least 20 seconds," explained Dr. Rajan. According to him, this affects the reduction of tension and eye strain, leading to their relaxation.
According to a study published by the "Nepalese Journal of Ophthalmology", which examined computer vision syndrome (CVS), i.e. eye strain caused by the screen after two hours of continuous use of computers, it was found that this technique is very efficient. They found that 90% of 795 participants had this eye syndrome after long hours at the computer, but after frequent breaks and looking at distant objects they had a significant improvement.
How can you apply it?
Medical News Today suggests setting an alarm every 20 minutes. If you can't accurately measure an object 20 meters away with your eyes, at least go to a window you have at work and just look outside the building for 20 seconds, as long as it's not a cell phone, computer or electronic games.
