Miley Cyrus says she inherited being a narcissist from her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. In David Letterman's podcast "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction", Miley talked about her father, listing the positive aspects of his personality.
“He also taught me to be down to earth and to be real. He always did the same thing, even though he was super famous," said Miley. She added that during her childhood, they talked about the difficult times and challenges they experienced. "But, I had food, love, I grew up in a beautiful and big house and my father didn't have all these", continued the singer, emphasizing that she had a difficult childhood.
On the other hand, she said that her mother, Tish, had a much nicer childhood. "To be honest, she's my heroine," Miley said, pointing out that her mother actually raised her. She further expressed gratitude for her father, who has experienced ups and downs in the music industry.
"My father, for whom I am very grateful, almost gave me the map of the things I should do and not do. He has guided me in both these directions," said Milye and explained that her parents are not on the "same level" in terms of the influence they have had on her life.

Tish and Billy legally separated in April 2022, after almost 30 years of marriage. They have 5 children together: Miley, 31, Noah, 24, Braison, 30, Trace, 35, and Brandi, 37. Billy Ray is also the father of Christopher, 32, whom he co-parents with ex-partner Kristin Luckey.
