There are many discussions and theories on this topic, as many parents decide at some point to put earrings in their children's ears even at a young age. Dr. Tania Eliot, a renowned physicist from New York, is warning people not to do anything that involves piercing their babies' ears. According to her, the risk is very high for infection, but also for the development of allergies.
“Piercing a child's ears when they are babies promotes bacterial infections that may require antibiotic care to heal. But they can also damage the cells in the children's ear, especially if they are not done in the right way", states Eliot.
According to the statement she gave to the New York Post, the development of allergies in these children is 15% higher than in those who do not have similar interventions. The best advice would be not to do any such action to children, especially while they are babies.
