It seems that the well-known actress is reflecting on motherhood, the fact that she became a mother at a young age, as she considers the chapter of children closed. In an interview for People, Sofia Vergara has spoken bluntly stating that she does not want to have any more children.
The Colombian actress is the mother of an only son whom she gave birth to when she was only 19 years old. According to Sofia, the decision to bring a child into this world is always right, regardless of age.
"I am very happy that I became a mother at a young age, because now I am almost 52 years old and he is 32. I would like to be older sometimes, to be more mature and better prepared to be a mother , but it just happened to me. So, after becoming a mother, I decided to move forward and not look back. I grew up with my son," the actress told People magazine.
According to the actress, there are a lot of things in life that may seem like good ideas, but actually aren't. “I know what it means to be a good mother or to try to be the best mother possible. This requires a lot of sacrifice and energy,” she adds.
Despite her decision not to have any more children, with the progress of medicine and recent developments, today women can have children even at an older age.
But it seems that Sofia has made up her mind about not becoming a mother again. "Nature gives you some signals, at the age of 50 you are almost in menopause, so it is a sign from God that you should stop having children. In my case, it was also the way I lived my life, career, marriage and many factors that influenced this decision. Therefore, I did not consider it right to give birth to a child for whom I would not be 100% dedicated.
We recall here the fact that the actress officially separated from her ex-husband Joe Manganiello this year, while the latter had expressed the desire for children and the expansion of the family.
Who knows, maybe this was one of the reasons for the couple's separation.
