An awards ceremony was enough for the famous actress to go public with her daughters in an event that has media attention from around the world. The evening's AFI Life Achievement Award gala brought the entire family of Kidman and husband Keith Urban to the red carpet, along with the couple's two teenage daughters.
This is officially the first public appearance of the children of the famous couple, while during the ceremony and receiving the award, Nicole said that they are the loves of her life. "I think I have a lot of luck in my life, but more importantly I have a lot of love," she said. "There are the love of my life. The girls have never been anywhere in public or a red carpet with me and today is their first nature,” she added.
Perhaps, with the feeling of permanent protection from the attention of the media and photographers, Kidman has chosen to keep her daughters out of the limelight.
In an interview a few years ago on the Today show, the actress said that she chooses to enter through back doors rather than walk the red carpet during various events when her daughters are present.
"I'm very protective when it comes to them. Many say that sometimes you have to hurt children to help them with things in life, but a mother always knows when something is wrong. So it's a matter of feeling," concludes Kidman.
