The eyes are the mirror of the soul, but also of your sexual desires. Nonverbal cues are more effective than communication during sex, according to a study recently published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior.
Researchers at Missouri State University conducted interviews with 78 participants of various ages and sexual orientations to determine what matters most during a sexual act. The team found that people are much more likely to communicate during sex with partners they trust and feel comfortable with.
However, the communication that often enhances the sexual experience is largely non-verbal. Most people felt that verbal cues hurt the flow and intimacy of the erotic moment. Instead of "igniting" the experience in bed with a dirty and bold vocabulary, you better make the right body movements and the most suggestive facial habits, from rolling your eyes to biting your lips, etc.
The research found that women often refrain from honest verbal communication about sexual dissatisfaction to avoid hurting men's feelings. It seems that 10% to 15% of women have never had an orgasm in their life, according to this study.
But experts agree on three factors to satisfying sex: stimulation, awareness and communication.
In other words, shut up and let your body do the talking!
