A 23-year-old girl, Ille Gjuni, reported her in-laws to the Durrës police and accused them of kidnapping her 3-year-old minor son. She said that after the death of her husband in a car accident, she sent her son to his grandparents, but after the visit, the grandparents never returned him to his mother. With tears in her eyes and in despair, the mother appealed for the son's return, while categorically denying that there had been conflicts over property issues with the family of her late husband.
According to the police, checks were carried out in the apartment of Rexhep Gjun, the grandfather of the little boy, but the minor has not yet been found.
Grandfather's arrest
The police arrested the boy's grandfather, Rexhep Gjunin, 60 years old, and another person, 49 years old, in Has. The police claim that the boy is being held under compulsion in Has or Kukës, so they are conducting numerous searches, including in the homes of the boy's relatives in both of these cities.
Ongoing research
For 6 days now, the boy has been missing and the authorities are searching intensively in all possible areas where they may have sheltered the minor boy. So far, the grandfather has not revealed the whereabouts of the little boy (if he is the abductor) and this is making the work and the police leads difficult.
Meanwhile, the search for the little boy's grandmother, who is 57 years old and lives in Durrës, continues.
