New revelations about Princess Diana and her relationship with King Charles are coming to light by the editor-in-chief of "Majesty" magazine, Ingrid Seward in her new book, "My mother and I", a publication that is more like a chronicles the relationship between Queen Elizabeth and King Charles.
According to Seward, the late Queen Elizabeth knew of the problems in Diana and Charles' relationship long before the two divorced. It was not difficult, as the author explains that Diana complained to her mother-in-law, while calling her then-husband a real "nightmare". "Diana would go into her private room for the Queen's meetings, which were every 20 minutes, and burst into tears," says Seward. She said that everyone hated her, but she hated her husband who was a nightmare to her.
Seward adds that: “The Queen stood there terrified and Diana became more and more hysterical. The Queen didn't know how to treat her, but she thought Charles should know how to treat his wife." Elizabeth could not understand how Charles could not cope with his marriage and the deteriorating relationship with his wife because the queen had no experience in this respect.
“Remember the closed world of the royal family, especially in those days. They never had to face moral conflict because there was always someone else to do it for them. The Queen was not used to doing this," adds the writer.
Charles and Diana married in 1981 and separated in 1992, with the divorce becoming official four years later. Diana passed away in 1997 in a car accident.
