The well-known actor of "Friends" Matthew Perry became the reason for BAFTA to face negative comments and criticism from fans, as in the space dedicated to tributes to important cinematographers who have passed away, Perry was absent.
The actor passed away in October last year at the age of 54, and in addition to his prominent role as Chandler in the 10 seasons of the popular series, he also starred in the films: "17 Again" and "The Whole Nine Yards."
So much so that fans took to social network X to express their outrage.

"Shame on you BAFTAs for not remembering Matthew Perry," someone wrote. While another added: "You didn't mention Matthew Perry? Too bad!"; "I'm just here to see if I was the only one who was hurt by Matthew's absence at the BAFTA2024 commemoration. I'm glad I'm not the only one," writes another person.
To justify the actor's absence, BAFTA responded to "X" with the statement: "Matthew Perry will be remembered at this year's televised ceremony," and attached an online write-up about the actor.
Perry was found dead on October 28 at his home in Los Angeles, and it was later revealed that the cause was the acute effects of prescription ketamine.
