Environmental protesters have thrown soup over the Mona Lisa painting at the Louvre museum in Paris. Fortunately, Leonardo Da Vinci's masterpiece was protected by a glass, which did not allow it to be damaged.
The soup was thrown by two activists, who called out in front of the painting: "What is more important? Art or the right to healthy food? Your farming system is sick. Our farmers are dying at work", they said and vandalized the painting.

According to the group called "Riposte Alimentaire" ("Food Counterattack") took responsibility for the attack and in a post on X (formerly Twitter) said that the protest was an attempt to integrate food into the general system of society.
According to the Louvre museum, members of "Riposte Alimentaire" threw pumpkin soup at the famous painting at 10 a.m. local time, but there was no damage. Meanwhile, the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, said that the attack is unjustifiable.
"As our heritage, the painting belongs to the next generation", he said in X.
Meanwhile, in France there have been many protests by farmers, who say that the agricultural system is negatively affecting their work.
As for the Mona Lisa painting, it has been protected by glass since the early 1950s after someone tried to throw acid on it. In 2019, the museum said it installed bulletproof and transparent glass, which also protected it from the 2022 attack, when an activist threw cake at it.
