Do only children tend to be selfish?

Do only children tend to be selfish?

There have always been theories about a big difference between the characteristics in social relations of only children and those with brothers or sisters.

In 1960, a study called "Project TALENT" was conducted that questioned more than 400 teenagers in periods of 1, 5 and 11 years after they had finished school. According to him, the only child is more likely to seek attention and avoid group activities.

In 2016 a group of Chinese researchers (according to the study published in "Brain Imaging and Behavior") used the scanner as a method to draw results on this topic and according to them, only children showed more flexibility reactions, related to creativity, but dissatisfaction on friendly terms and cooperation.

Today, some psychologists have come to the conclusion that only children (as they themselves admit) have a lot of difficulty putting the feelings of others before themselves, but also understanding others.

Supported by some researchers is the idea of ??an inherited and learned selfishness, since an only child does not have to share things with a brother and a sister.

However, no study speaks convincingly on this topic as individuals are different and their lives are driven by different character-defining circumstances and events.
