A painting by Austrian artist Gustav Klimt, which was believed to have been missing for 100 years, has been found in Vienna.
Fraulein Lieser's portrait once belonged to a Jewish family in Austria and was last seen in public in 1925.
Its fate after this period is still unclear, but the family that currently owns it has owned it since 1960.
The famous auction house "im Kinsky" has estimated this work at 54 million dollars.
"Such a rare painting, with an obvious artistic value, has not been present on the market for decades," said representatives of "im Kinsky".
On April 24, 2024, this painting will be auctioned, but before that it will be present in several public shows in England, Switzerland, Germany and Hong Kong.
Klimt's works have broken records before. One of his paintings was sold for 99.8 million euros in July last year, becoming the most expensive artwork ever sold at a European auction.
