A court in New Mexico has charged actor Alec Baldwin with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the filming of the movie "Rust", where cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed.
Baldwin's defense attorneys said they will contest the charge, which carries a possible prison sentence of up to 18 months.
The indictment offers prosecutors two options for investigating the case: Reckless use of a firearm and misconduct with total disregard or indifference for the safety of others.
Baldwin, the lead actor and co-producer of "Rust," was pointing a gun at filmmaker Halyna Hutchins during rehearsals in Santa Fe in October 2021 when the gun went off, killing her and injuring director Joel Souza.
