Regardless of what goals you have set for yourself this year, whether learning a foreign language or wanting to read more, these are all indications that you want to channelize your time in the best possible way.
To help you do this, Rainer Strack, a director at a consulting company, shows you how to design some valuable strategies for your life.
1. How do I define a wonderful life?
Many people work towards a goal they believe they should have. How to earn more money or buy a house, without thinking about what would make them truly happy. A fulfilled life is defined based on the needs and expectations of each individual, so there are no detailed frameworks for this.
2. What is my purpose in life?
To find purpose, you need to ask yourself two questions: What are my strengths and what does the world need? When deciding what skills you excel at, it can be helpful to involve your friends or family for some more ideas.
3. What is my vision in life?
Imagine some priorities or goals. There may be three, four or five of these...Here are some questions to help you expand your vision. Questions like:
-What would I do if money wasn't a problem for me?
- What do I not want to miss in my life when I am 80 years old?
Visualizing these answers can guide you toward your goals.
4. How do I spend my time?
There are 168 hours in a week. Write down how you're spending those hours and compare it to something you believe makes your life better. If you say maintaining relationships is important to you, but you only spend an hour a week with them, maybe you should plan to send a few texts or set up more dates.
5. What can I learn from the standards?
Use positive examples in your life to inform how you live. Ask yourself, "Who do I admire?" and then analyze what makes them admirable to you.
6. What choices can I make?
Now, you need to decide which elements of your life you want to change, adapt, eliminate, or continue. Maybe you like how much time you spend on meetings, but you don't feel committed enough to work.
