Going through a divorce is hard. Now, imagine experiencing it when all the attention of the world is on you! This happened to Sofia Vergara, who spoke for the first time on "CBS Sunday Morning" about her sensational divorce from her ex-husband, Joe Manganiello.
She said that she expected the media to be full of news about her divorce. "I'm moving forward. I'm in the public eye and people know that's part of being a celebrity. I knew it would happen. I can't hide these things", adding that anyway, the media was accurate and direct, which helped him a lot to overcome the difficult period.
"(Media reports) were not bad. "I believe, you saw it, I must say that the media was very respectful and polite. I thought they would make things up and mind you, as they usually do. It was surprising that they told it like it happened," Sofia added.
Vergara and Manganiello confirmed the news of their divorce in July 2023 in a statement to Page Six, stressing that the decision was mutual and they had decided to end their marriage.
"We have taken the difficult decision to divorce. As two people who love and care deeply for each other, we kindly ask that you respect our privacy as we move through this new phase in our lives," the couple said in a joint statement.
