A$AP Rocky has been found not guilty of a charge of assault with a firearm. The decision was made in the criminal court of Los Angeles and we can say that the case has received a lot of attention, since it was alleged that the rapper fired a gun at his childhood friend during a fight that happened on November 6, 2021.
Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, previously pleaded not guilty in August 2022, but another hearing was held and it was deemed there was enough evidence to take the case to trial again. If he were found guilty, he could face 9 years in prison.
His case has had some controversy since in November, a Los Angeles detective testified that surveillance cameras in the area where the attack took place showed a man resembling A$AP Rocky holding a gun. The detective testified that the person in the photo was the rapper. Under questioning by Rocky's attorney, he said officers found no shell casings at the scene, but the alleged victim, Terell Ephron, also known as A$AP Relli, said he returned to the scene and found the shell casings himself. .
In April 2022, the rapper was arrested at Los Angeles airport in connection with the case, having just returned from vacation with Rihanna, who was pregnant at the time.
During the first trial, on November 8, the rapper's lawyer said that Ephron was fabricating the situation for financial gain.
