Time to start another royal drama and this time it has nothing to do with Prince Harry.
According to The Daily Beast, there is some tension between Prince William and his father, King Charles, particularly over how much control Prince William has in his role as heir to the throne.
"I'm sure they will clash as Charles is allergic to anyone telling him what to do and William is not known for his finesse," explains a former Buckingham Palace insider. "But I think it's widely seen as a productive rivalry rather than a destructive one, because William respects his father's 'rank' as head of the monarchy."
The former employee adds that, "At the end of the day, the monarchy is a hierarchical structure based on military principles and you have to obey orders from your superiors," noting that William and Kate understand this.
That said, William and Charles are very different in terms of the direction of the monarchy. A source who has worked for both royals says "William and Kate would do things like give you two weeks off if your dad died, whereas Charles' office has a more workmanlike atmosphere."
Oh, and apparently one courtier even joked that they didn't have time to use the bathroom when they were working for Charles...
