ZARA has published the new campaign (December 9), which has sparked the anger of many people on social networks, especially supporters of Palestine, in the war between Hamas and Israel in the territory of the Gaza Strip.
The clothing, footwear and accessories brand has deleted the campaign from social media, but that hasn't stopped people from having their harsh reactions.
@jetakadri Boycott Zara #fy #fyp #foryou #zara #boycott #boycottzara #palestine #freepalestine #savegaza #savechildren #humanity #fyy ? Palestine (Vocals Only) - Muad
Why has all this anger started? Zara's new collection has promoted leather clothing while in the background is a bound body, like that of a child who had been a victim of Israeli attacks in hospitals, being held by his mother, who was crying bitterly.
Also, the model rests in a wooden box, similar to some of the coffins used in the Islamic faith.
Another photo shows a mannequin missing limbs and people on TikTok have linked the image to Palestinians being bombarded relentlessly, being maimed by Israeli airstrikes.
Above the model stand two men, and according to some comments, the white powder symbolizes the white phosphorus that is said to be being distributed over the population of Gaza.
Another detail of the campaign is the map of Palestine, while there are stones and tied bodies around, showing the alarming situation that is happening in Gaza.
Immediately, users of social networks accused the brand of not only supporting genocide, but also glorifying the killing of civilians, showing corpses, bodies and recreating scenes from the destruction of Gaza City in the campaign.
People think this is no coincidence at all and are calling for shoppers to boycott ZARA. If you click on the hashtag #zaranewcampaign on TikTok you will come across thousands of videos that have different reactions to the campaign.
