Makeup artist Genevieve Herr is the trusted person, to whom actress Julia Roberts has "delivered" her beauty for 20 years. To be clear, not that natural beauty, but that enhanced through make-up, colors and the typical shine in the portrait of the famous artist.
The most important element in the actress' makeup? Eyes in focus, full of shine! The actress appeared at the premiere of the movie "Leave the world behind" in New York and makeup artist Genevieve relied on her famous technique for the eye brush, using two different shades for maximum effect.
"Julia likes a well-defined lash line and a bit of mascara," says Herr. "On the top I used a black brush and on the bottom I used a soft gray. I always like to use black on the top because it defines the eyes really well. On the bottom of the lash line lashes, I use a lighter color so it's not as harsh as black," she continues.
This method gives fantastic dimension to the eyes making them look more open and full. "Black, especially under the eyes is heavy for my taste," says Herr. "Adding a softer shade underneath opens up the look and portrait of every woman I do," she adds.
To keep the look at the level of inevitable elegance, the makeup artist used a little black pencil and a short line on the lower edge of the eyes. "I don't go all the way to the inner corner," she says.
She adds a little concealer in that space for more sparkle in the eyes.
