Kiara, who together with Luiz confirmed her pregnancy and showed that they are expecting a girl, published a photo where she presented her new look and it was seen that she had cut her hair, when she received several messages saying that she did not it is the right action to cut hair during pregnancy.
The moderator, in a post on Instastory, inspired by the messages, said: "I see many such messages. Who says that? Cutting your hair during pregnancy is not prohibited! To wait or not is a matter of choice. If you are talking about word of mouth, I don't believe in such things and I am not superstitious. Thank you!".
Starting from Kiara, we show you some strange superstitions that women encounter during pregnancy:
Let's start with: "Don't cut your hair"
According to the myth, expectant mothers should not cut their hair, because the child may be born with problems. Even in this case, there is no scientific basis. Hair dyeing remains controversial. Although there are no real studies that say that the paint has a negative effect on the baby, but experts advise to avoid it, at least until the first trimester.
"If a mother dresses up, she is expecting a boy"
According to the myth, girls steal the mother's beauty, which means that if the mother beautifies herself during childbirth, she is expecting a boy. The truth about physical changes is related to hormone changes that can make women feel and look tired, have acne and other problems. But this is related to hormones and has nothing to do with having a boy or a girl.
"Don't say from the beginning that you're pregnant that it's not good"
Popular beliefs suggest that women should not tell other people that they are pregnant until the first few months have passed. It is thought that if they say it, there is danger. In fact, it remains just a myth. Miscarriages are more likely to occur during the first few weeks, but this has nothing to do with when you go public with your pregnancy.
"If you burn your order, you will give birth to more hair babies"
It is believed that when mothers have heartburn, they will give birth to children with lots of hair. Relatedly, in a 2006 study from Johns Hopkins University, researchers observed that pregnant women they monitored reported moderate to severe heartburn and gave birth to babies with more hair than normal. Women who did not complain of heartburn or acid reflux gave birth to babies with no or little hair. This correlation, however, is not a typical case of cause and effect.
Both symptoms, both baby hair and mother's heartburn, are caused by a third factor: pregnancy hormones.
"Don't step on the rope"
In certain cultures, people advise pregnant women not to step on ropes because doing so causes the umbilical cord to twist around the baby's neck. There is no scientific basis. It remains just a myth.
"You shouldn't see ugly animals"
We don't know what people call "ugly animals", but in some cultures they say that if a pregnant woman sees an "ugly animal", she will give birth to ugly children. This is probably one of the strangest myths, because how can a baby be ugly?
