Beyoncé's mom won't let anyone throw mud at her daughter.
Tina Knowles reacted angrily after people accused her daughter of "whitening her skin" and "presenting herself as a white woman". The comments were in reference to Beyoncé's appearance at the premiere of her Renaissance tour film.
Tina posted a clip on Instagram showing Beyoncé over the years with her skin tones. The video was accompanied in the background by her song "Brown Skin Girl".
The term "brown people" or "brown skin" is a term that describes people with a darker skin tone than what is usually considered "white". People of different racial and ethnic backgrounds can have brown skin.
"I happened to see this video today and decided to post it after seeing all the stupid, ignorant comments, racist statements about her supposedly bleaching her skin and having platinum hair because she's going to be white," Tina wrote.
“She's releasing a film, titled 'Renaissance', where the whole theme is silver: silver hair, silver carpet, silver clothing. Whereas you think she's trying to be a white woman and lighten her skin?”
Tina Knowles said she is tired of people attacking Beyoncé every time she achieves something that shows her "work ethic, talent and drive".
"I feel sorry for you losers! I know she's going to be mad at me for writing this, but I'm tired. This girl watches her work. She helps people whenever she can," she concluded.
