On the vast majority of flights, people prefer either the window seat or the side seat and very rarely the middle seat. The reasons are almost understandable!
The window seat offers a view of the world from above and a surface where you can rest your head to take a nap, if you're one of those passengers who can sleep during flights.
There is one drawback for passengers occupying the window seat: they find it very difficult to use the toilet on the plane, as they first have to step over the feet of two other passengers. Meanwhile, those who are in the aisle seat, that is, on the side where the flight attendants pass, have the easiest time using the toilet.
But people who fly by plane wonder why a passenger would choose a middle seat over other options?

1- They want to maximize the chances of having an empty seat next to them. It may seem like a dubious strategy, but it is often effective
2- Another motive could be the fact of benefiting from the middle seat, since as a passenger positioned between two other people, he has the opportunity to lean
3- The desire to spend the journey having long conversations is another reason. The middle seat is a good opportunity to make new friends if you choose to chat with them during the ride
4- Last but not least, being a passenger in the middle seat is a more advantageous position in cases where you need to use the toilet, when you need to pass in front of one person and not two as in the case when you sit in window
