Selena Gomez has reacted to the terrible war between Hamas and Israel, through a post on Instastory, but people and her fans are very disappointed with the singer and actress.
"I've taken a break from social media because it breaks my heart to see all the horror, hatred, violence and terror that's going on in the world," adding that it's terrible that people are being killed by gangs.
She continued:
“We must protect ALL people, especially children, and stop the violence once and for all. I'm sorry words or a hashtag will never be enough. I just can't stand that innocent people are getting hurt", said the actress and emphasized that she would like to change the world, but her post cannot do that.
People immediately got angry with her post, which seems selfish to them, since there is a devastating war and a humanitarian crisis going on in the world, while Selena talks about "a break from social networks".
Someone replied to a tweet by a person who said it "can't get any worse #Gaza", saying: "Have you tried the Selena Gomez method? Turn off your phone and take a break. One tweet changes nothing ".
Have you tried the Selena Gomez method? Turn your phone off and take a mental health break ? a post won't change anything https://t.co/wh0AIUqCFB

"Only Selena Gomez can turn a post about genocide (into a post) about herself."
"Shame on you Selena Gomez. You have 430 million followers and again, the people who have less followers are doing more. Our voices are being heard. You're just ignorant," someone said.
430 million followers. Yes a post can do a tear selena gomez, you taking a break on social media cause this "affects you" but you're in a million dollar house while people are getting killed. you can't even defend Palestine, you take a "neutral" stance to save face. https://t.co/NwbW2Yjfxu

"430 million followers! Yes, a post can go a long way, Selena Gomez. You're taking a break from social media because it's "affecting you," but you're in a million-dollar house while people are being killed. You are not even defending Palestine, you are taking a "neutral" position to save face".
Selena Gomez is literally the 3rd most followed person on Instagram with almost half a BILLION followers. A post WILL make a difference.

This is why I'm annoyed when celebrities make a "neutral" statement. They do it only because of their reputation. Not because they genuinely care. https://t.co/ZSgfDNdPfZ

VIP reactions to the war between Hamas and Israel are disappointing people more and more. The last case was that of Angelina Jolie , who also took a position that was considered "neutral". Commentators expected more from the actress, given that she has worked with refugees for 2 decades.
