Here's how she uses the make-up sponge:

"I submerge the sponge completely in the water and then squeeze it out so that not a drop of water remains. Then I wrap it in a paper towel so the sponge doesn't get wet," explains Ono. "The trick is that the sponge should not be too wet because it dissolves the makeup, but not too dry because it can remove the makeup."

According to the makeup artist, the secret is in the moisture of the sponge: "It has to be that perfect moisture that is not always easy to find."
