Big Basta, invited to the "Live from Tirana" program, spoke among other things about the decision to leave together with his wife, Vesa and their son, from New Zealand and to return to Albania.
He explained why he chose to return after a few years, stating that from the beginning, we prepare to leave Albania and that, in fact, we are unprepared for life in our country
"As children, we have been preparing to leave Albania since we learned foreign languages. No one has prepared us to stay in Albania. I realized while staying there, how important Albania was".
The rapper added that in New Zealand people grow up with the spirit of how to love your country. "In New Zealand they have an extraordinary policy. They tell you to love your hometown. We, as a people, have our pros and cons, like any other people", he said.
Furthermore, he continued that he and Vesa plan to focus more on their passion for music, and also aim for the boy to perfect the Albanian language and grow up with his grandparents and relatives.
Big Basta also told about the changes in music in Albania, since the period that he left.
"As a whole, it has changed a lot (the music market). Now, there are rarely rock artists. Hip Hop has won as a culture, it has spread in Albania".
He added that there are good artists, but also transient ones, pointing out that one of his favorite artists is Lyrical Son.
The rapper is optimistic and says that there are very talented young artists and in general, we are moving in the right direction.
Vesa and Big Basta will compete in the Song Festival , with the song "Supernatural", marking a long-awaited return of the two artists.
