Adele, whose album "30" contained a song titled "I Drink Wine", is no longer consuming any alcoholic beverages.
“I stopped drinking [alcohol] a long time ago...I stopped drinking, when did I stop drinking? It seems like an eternity. Maybe three and a half months ago,” she told the audience during a show in Las Vegas.
"It's boring. I mean, oh my God, it's boring. I was literally a borderline alcoholic in my twenties, but I miss you so much. So enjoy your whiskey, I'm so, so jealous, ” she said to a bystander.
Health experts have never used the term borderline alcoholic. But by describing herself this way, Adele seems to be saying that alcohol has had a very negative impact on her life and like many others she has decided to make changes. Borderline personality disorder is a mental disorder that affects a person's ability to regulate emotions.
Adele has been open about how much she enjoyed alcohol in the past. "I have always had a very close relationship with alcohol. I have always been very fascinated by alcohol. He pushed my father away. So I always wanted to know what was so great about it,” she told Vogue in 2021.
Mark Evans, Adele's father, died in May 2021 of bowel cancer, but was absent from her life for most of her childhood, according to People. Adele's parents divorced when she was only 3 years old.
