The Louvre is home to world masterpieces and welcomes around 30,000-40,000 visitors every day. A spokesman told Agence France Presse (AFP) that they "received a written message, which said there was a great risk to the museum and visitors." He said they decided to treat it as an alarm and take the necessary measures.
France has been put on high alert for possible terrorist attacks. A professor was stabbed and several other people were injured on Friday at a school in Arras, and there is a chance that there will be more consequences.
The fear of an attack coming from the Israel-Hamas conflict has invaded France, which has been attacked by terrorists a lot. President Emmanuel Macron has stated that France is preparing, calling on citizens to "stand side by side and united", while the government has increased the number of security forces in the country by 7,000, after Friday's attack.
