Hundreds more people fled the Greek island of Santorini on Wednesday after tremors rocked the popular destination for a sixth day.

About 10,000 people have been evacuated by ferries and planes in recent days after hundreds of earthquakes were recorded in the surrounding area, damaging buildings and raising fears of a major quake.

Authorities have imposed safety measures, including a construction ban, the closure of schools on Santorini and the nearby islands of Ios, Amorgos and Anafi, and a number of other regulations.

Palestinians, Arab states reject Trump's proposal to take over Gaza

News in a few minutes: What's happening in the world

Donald Trump for the US to take control of Gaza and resettle the 2.1 million Palestinians living there.

"We will not allow the rights of our people to be violated," Mahmoud Abbas stressed, warning that Gaza was "an integral part of the State of Palestine" and forced displacement would be a serious violation of international law.

Hamas, whose 15-month war with Israel has caused widespread destruction, said Trump's plan would "add fuel to the fire" in the region.

The idea has been rejected by countries in the region such as Jordan and Egypt, and key US allies, while the UN issued a warning against "any form of ethnic cleansing".
