YouTube has decided to temporarily ban comedian Russell Brand from monetizing his videos following multiple allegations of rape and sexual assault.
In a statement to CNN, YouTube said it had "suspended monetization of Russell Brand's channel" for violating its Creator Responsibility policy, which sets standards for how creators should conduct themselves on and off the platform.
On Saturday, media outlets including The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4 published a joint investigation in which four women alleged that Brand sexually assaulted them in incidents that allegedly took place between 2006 and 2013. One of the women said she was 16 years old and Brand 31 at the time.
On Friday, Brand initially denied the allegations in a video posted to the Instagram page.
