Many foods that affect heart health are already known through various writings or studies. But when it comes to the bladder and the connections to the food diet, there aren't many details.
Unless you've had a urinary tract infection, suffered from bladder problems, or urinate frequently, you probably don't realize that the foods and drinks you consume are to blame.
Dr. Anika Ackerman, a urology specialist tells Huffpost that: "For patients with sensitive bladders or overactive bladders it is important to understand that diet can make their symptoms worse."
What are the foods or drinks that affect:
The coffee
Do you like a cup of coffee in the morning or three coffees as a daily habit? You should know that coffee contains caffeine and acid which are irritating elements for the bladder. Caffeine is a diuretic that makes you produce more urine, increasing bladder frequency.
Citrus fruits
Citrus fruits are good for you, but if you suffer from bladder problems it is best to limit or reduce them in your diet. Grapes or oranges are fruits that have high acidity. This acidity can cause bladder irritation and increase pain symptoms.
tomatoes
The acid in tomatoes affects the appetite. Tomatoes increase urine acidity more than soda and cause bladder irritation. Plus, cooked tomatoes have more acidity than fresh tomatoes.
Processed meat
Pijet me gaz
Duhani
Although it is neither food nor drink, smoking can lead to bladder cancer. Substances in tobacco are processed and released when a person urinates. Harmful chemicals in tobacco products are filtered through the kidneys and eliminated in the urine. The chances of bladder problems are high.
