What happens when you don't cut your hair for 33 years? A Tennessee woman who started growing her hair decades ago has entered the Guinness Book of World Records.
Tami Manis of Knoxville was crowned the winner in the women's category with the world's longest dovetail hair. Mani's hair is longer than her own. She is 162 centimeters tall, her hair is 10 centimeters above the woman's height.
The last time he put scissors on his hair was in 1990.
"I grew up in a small town, I was an overweight teenager. I got the inspiration for the dovetail hairstyle from the famous music groups that were around in those years," she continues.
While her hair gets a lot of attention, it's not always easy to take care of. On the day she washes, she uses shampoo and conditioner, products with argan oil, which make the braiding process easier. She then dries them using large towels.
Sherry Bushong is her close friend who has been braiding her hair for the past 20 years. The weekly process takes about one hour and 20 minutes.
