A rare blue supermoon — the closest full moon to Earth — dazzled onlookers Wednesday night.
Saturn joined the celestial spectacle, visible alongside the Moon, at least where the sky was clear. This was the second full moon of August (hence known as a "blue" supermoon) and was extremely close to Earth, hence a supermoon.
You can also see the supermoon tonight (August 31). If you miss it, you'll be in for a long wait: The next blue supermoon will be in 2037.
