Yevgeny Prigozhin is reported dead
Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner Group, which launched an armed rebellion in June against Putin, has been reported dead. Russia said he was aboard a private jet that crashed in the Tver region near Moscow. 10 people on board remained dead.
The cause of the fall is not yet known, but Prigozhin's long conflict with the military and the armed uprising he led in June would give the Russian state ample motive for retaliation. Media outlets linked to Wagner suggested that a Russian air defense missile had brought down the plane.
