How many times have you asked yourself why you sweat so much? Have you felt uncomfortable after wearing a dress that highlights even more sweating in the armpits or the whole body? You are not alone.
"Sweating is the body's normal response to expel toxins and regulate the body's optimal temperature in situations such as high heat, intense exercise, or acute stress," dermatologist Michele Green tells Glamor . "Sweat glands stop when you stop a physical activity, when it's the peak of summer heat and not only. But this signal never occurs in some people where the sweat glands continue to produce it."
Why do some people sweat a lot?
"People sweat at different rates due to a combination of genetic factors and environmental influences," says Jody Alpert Levine, a dermatologist in NYC. "The number of sweat glands, their activity to stimuli can vary according to people. Some may have a larger number of sweat glands or have them more active, which leads to increased sweating. Other factors are thyroid, anxiety, genetics, neurological conditions and side effects of medication."
Loose clothing in pastel shades is a solution
Loose clothing in pastel colors is a good idea to escape or hide excessive sweating. No black or dark clothing, as they reflect sunlight and do not absorb heat. Loose clothing is a find because it wicks away moisture. These two techniques help to somewhat reduce excessive sweating, but also reduce the risk of sweat-induced acne, skin cracking, and rashes.
