The daily struggle of many parents today! How to get the phone out of the hands of children, who are obsessed with various games, cartoons or programs that keep them for hours in front of the small screen. It is not simple. A job that requires patience, persuasive tactics with the little ones, so that the latter surrender.
But China has gone further, not with the next invention, but by establishing clear rules of the game. Children will use the phone with limited hours!
Time constraints
The rules require smartphones to have a "little mode" for those under 18, meaning no access to the internet and mobile devices between 10pm and 6am.
Users aged 16 to 18 will be allowed two hours a day, children aged eight to 16 will have one hour of access to phones, while children under eight will be allowed just eight minutes.
Impact on technology companies
The new measures could present challenges for technology companies, which are responsible for implementing the regulations.
Hong Kong shares of some of the internet's leading firms fell sharply after the new rules were published.
Technology giants such as Apple or Xiaomi said that they will closely examine this bill.
