Hailey Bieber has spoken openly about the role of fans in creating a narrative "distorted and perpetuated, which can be very dangerous" and which is precisely related to the online drama between her and Selena Gomez.
The 26-year-old model told "The Circuit With Emily Chang" that her "clash" with Selena Gomez is totally made up and asked fans to stop the malicious comments, or even online bullying.
"I don't think it has anything to do with me like Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez. It's not about pitting two women against each other and driving a wedge between them. It's about a dirty, disgusting hate that can come from fabricated, distorted and perpetuated narratives," she said, referring to the online debate that has existed for years, where Selena fans claim that Hailey " took" Justin from the singer, because they got engaged a few months after Justin broke up with Sel. Hailey added that this whole narrative can become extremely dangerous.
Hailey and Selena were embroiled in some online drama, which they only reacted to in the end, to put a lid on the whole flurry of comments and hate speech.
In the middle of this month, Hailey made another appeal to her followers and asked them not to write negative and malicious comments on her behalf.
"If you are writing a negative and rude comment on my behalf in someone's posts, know that I do not want such a thing, I will never support comments with hate speech, negativity and malice. By doing this, you are not supporting me. If you're participating in this culture, I don't want to be a part of it. Please be kind, or don't say anything," the model declared through a post on Instastory, after fans of both girls began to collide with comments on Hailey and Selena's social networks.
