Apparently, there are some items you should never use when staying in a hotel, no matter how much you want to.
A former hotel manager revealed on TikTok some secrets about the cleanliness of two items in the hotel room.
In her video, Melly says that when she stays in a hotel, she never uses the coffee machine or the washing products (shampoo, conditioner) that are in a refillable bottle.
That is why:
Coffee machine: Although employees can flush the water tank, the pipe is never cleaned.
Shampoo, conditioner: If the shampoo bottles are not sealed, do not use them. "I never use these refillable bottles. People can put anything in them. I've seen bodily fluids in these bottles," she said.
Melly's video got a lot of attention and several other hoteliers commented to share their experiences.
"I worked at a resort and saw the employee wipe the toilet, then use the same cloth to wipe the coffee machine. Disgusting," one said.
"I worked in a hotel for three weeks. I was told to just make the beds, not change the sheets. I don't trust hotels at all," said another.
