In a conversation with Prime Minister Rama on his "Flasim" podcast, Elvana Gjata revealed some details about herself, which you probably don't know.
Why doesn't she give interviews often?
"Because I want to feel really good about what I have in front of me. It is very important for me to feel good and speak honestly, because I don't like to speak and say clichéd things, forced things. I must have very good energy [to give interviews].”
Elvana's parents did not want her to become a singer
"To be honest, my parents didn't want me to sing, even though they were aware of my talent. They didn't want to, because my older sister, Migena, was a singer, and my parents saw me in another profession, because according to them, another profession would be a more secure future."
Elvana started her journey in music without her parents' permission
"I went to the Palace of Pioneers without my parents' permission. I went, I registered and on the night of the festival I said to my mom and dad: 'Come and see me sing today'. Of course, I had the help of my uncle, because I did not know the way to go to the Palace of Pioneers, because I was very young, 10 years old. It was a surprise. I won third prize.”
Elvana's sister was the first to realize her talent
"My sister was the first to feed me with music. She understood that I didn't like [the music she listened to], Mozart, Beethoven...I liked it, but she understood that I preferred something else. He started teaching me Frank Sinatra, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey. He understood that I had potential and today he always stands by my side. A little while ago we had rehearsals together, because she is my vocal coach."
The secret of the body always in shape: Elvana is almost vegan
"Dad's home cooking [is the secret]. Dad helps me and cooks for me. We are 90% vegan. That 10% consists of little fish, but not red meat."
He likes to listen to artists like Frank Sinatra, Adele, Beyonce, John Legend, etc.
Elvana does 1 and a half hours of training a day, 5 times a week.
Ballads are her favorite songs.
