Megan Fox, even today, still struggles to love her body.
"I have body dysmorphia. I never see myself the way other people see me,” she told Sports Illustrated. "There was never a moment in my life where I loved my body, ever."
Megan added that she is always on a "never-ending journey to love herself".
The actress also admitted that she has always been critical of her image and had an obsession with her body since she was a child.
This is not the first time that Megan Fox has spoken about insecurities about the appearance. In October 2021, she said in an interview with British GQ:
The exact cause of BDD is unknown. One theory suggests that the disorder involves a problem with the size or function of certain areas of the brain that process information about body appearance. The fact that BDD often occurs in people with other mental health disorders, such as depression and anxiety. Other factors that can affect development or cause the disorder are: traumatic experiences or emotional conflicts during childhood, low self-esteem, critical parents or pressure from peers or society.
