Do you ever find yourself looking at your closet full of clothes and feeling like you have nothing to wear? During tough times, it can seem like the only escape is to go shopping – but shopping is the last thing you need to do.
The very fact that you've just seen a wardrobe full of clothes and said to yourself "there's nothing here" proves that you're not thinking straight. What clothes should you give up?
Everything you have in multiples
Underwear and tops are fine, but if you find you have ten floral dresses, it's not a good sign, especially if you like one or two more than the others. Choose your favourites.
Clothes you've never worn, or only worn once
Are many of them from the same store? Are they bought for special occasions? Was there a discount? Do they fit your style? Ask these questions and you will understand which clothes you should give up.
Clothes you once loved and wore all the time, but now hate
What changed? Were you copying a style that you thought looked good on someone else? Get rid of these clothes and throw them away.
Anything that doesn't fit or would fit if you were different (skinnier, fatter, taller, shorter, whatever).
See all the clothes you have that no longer fit. What's wrong? Are the buttons? The cuts? Pay special attention to them and if you think they are not worth having, throw them away or forgive them.
