At age 13, Monica was her teacher Michelle's favorite student.
Years later, the 2 women reunited and their platonic relationship blossomed into a passionate romance, despite their 25-year age difference.
Now that they are engaged, the women have received quite a bit of criticism for their relationship.
In 2004, Michelle Foster was teaching Monica Ketchum's class. The latter reminds:
"Michelle was my seventh grade teacher and she was my favorite."
16 years later, Monica befriended her teacher through Facebook.
They met for lunch in August 2021 and became good friends.
Over time, their friendship continued to grow stronger until they realized that the relationship had become romantic.

Before that, Foster had been in a romantic relationship with a woman, while Ketchum had recently publicly admitted to being gay.
In May 2022, both women chose to end their previous relationships in order to build a love story together. Foster decided to end the marriage with her wife and then filed for divorce.
Today, Monica is 31 years old and Michelle is 56. Both women have children from previous marriages and now live together. They plan to marry in June.

The whole story rightly (seems a bit fishy) and many people have criticized it as "sick" and "weird".
Someone says that "it's terrible to see someone you knew as a child, when you were fully grown, later sexually".
Others say that there is nothing abnormal, as long as both girls were old enough when they were reunited after a few years.
