Unlike Shakira who hasn't gotten over the breakup so well, Gerard Piqué is super happy and has no plans to apologize to his ex-partner for the betrayal or the way they broke up.
"I continue to do what I want. The day I die, I will look back and hope that I have done what I wanted. I want to stay true to myself", said the former footballer for "El Pais".
He also added that he will not spend any more money to clear the name. "I will not spend money to clean my image. Changes have happened in my life and I know how to maintain happiness", he said.
Piqué said that at the moment, he is totally focused on protecting his sons (whom he co-parents with Shakira), Milan (9 years old) and Sasha (8 years old). "Everyone has their responsibilities and they try to do the best for the children," he said.
The ex-footballer waited a full 9 months to break his silence and speak out, after the separation in June 2022. Shakira and Piqué ended their cohabitation and relationship, after the ex-footballer cheated on the singer with his current partner, Clara Hi Marty.
Since then, Shak has dedicated several songs to the breakup, his ex-partner and his girlfriend, but Gerard has kept his cool.
