A court in the Italian province of Trentino has suspended an order that required the capture and killing of a bear because it killed a man jogging in the woods. Andrea Papi, who died on April 7, was the first person in Italy in modern times to be killed by a bear attack.
After the attack, the province's governor, Maurizio Fugatti, a member of the far-right League party, ordered the animal captured and killed. But on Friday, the local administrative court suspended the order, after activists and animal rights groups launched a legal appeal.

The Netherlands is to expand its euthanasia regulations to include the possibility for doctors to assist in the death of seriously ill children aged 1 to 12. The new rules will apply to five to 10 children a year who suffer and are in excruciating pain due to illnesses, have no hope of improvement and for whom medical care cannot bring relief, the government said on Friday.
"The end of life for this group is the only reasonable alternative to the unbearable and hopeless suffering of the child," it said in a statement. The Netherlands will not be the first to allow doctors to perform euthanasia on children. Belgium has allowed it since 2014.
