King Charles III has given an update on his health, saying it has improved significantly. He spoke to cancer survivor Lee Harman during a walk with Queen Camilla.

"I am and I feel very well. (Cancer) is just one of those (extra) things," the king said.

Lee Harman, 54, said he had shared his battle with cancer with Charles after the king announced in February last year that he had been diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery to treat an enlarged but benign prostate.

"His Majesty has chosen to share the diagnosis to avoid speculation and in the hope that it may help raise public awareness for all those around the world affected by cancer," Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

In March, Charles was hospitalized due to side effects from cancer treatment. As a result, the king temporarily withdrew from royal engagements; however, he returned to work the following month.

On April 1, Charles appeared in good spirits as he led a ceremony at Windsor Castle in England.

While he has rarely spoken about his health since his diagnosis, in May, an aide revealed how Charles was coping with the illness while continuing to work.

"The thing you learn about this disease is that you just manage it and that's exactly what he's doing," the anonymous aide told The Telegraph at the time.

"Medicine has made incredible advances and I honestly don't see any change in him. Just do what the doctors say and live life as normally as possible," the anonymous person added.

Charles, after being diagnosed with cancer, made a public statement, saying:

"I want to express my heartfelt thanks for the many messages of support and good wishes I have received over the past few days. As everyone affected by cancer knows, these kind thoughts are the greatest support and encouragement."

Further, he continued:

"It is equally encouraging to hear that the publication of my diagnosis has helped to promote public awareness and shine a light on the work of organisations supporting cancer patients and their families in the UK and around the world. My lifelong admiration for their tireless care and dedication is all the greater as a result of my own personal experience."
