American musician, producer and designer Pharrell Williams will succeed Virgil Abloh as artistic director for men's collections at Louis Vuitton.
The appointment is effective immediately and his first collection will debut in June during Paris Fashion Week.
"His vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton to a new and very exciting chapter," said Pietro Beccari, chief executive of Louis Vuitton.

The news comes just over a year after Virgil Abloh died in November 2021 at the age of 41 from cancer.

Williams, who has won 13 Grammys, is best known for his music career, although the 49-year-old has also contributed to the fashion world by collaborating with names such as Tiffany & Co., Moncler and Adidas.
What Williams will bring to LV remains to be seen. Curiosity about his work is great.
