People are trying to decipher an exchange of words and looks between newlyweds Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck after a viral video appears to show the couple in a tense moment.
The pair were seen possibly fighting at the Jan. 18 party for "Shotgun Wedding," the movie starring the actress and Josh Duhamel, which premiered on Amazon Prime on Jan. 27.
Shared on TikTok, the viral video that has been viewed more than 3.2 million times shows Affleck looking bored as he talks to Lopez and she takes a sip from her glass.
It's impossible to hear what the actor is saying to his wife, but in a video one assumes it reads:
"I haven't had anything to drink, okay?"
Affleck has been open in the past about his problems and treatment for alcohol addiction. The actor was first treated in 2001. According to Newsweek, his last stint in rehab was in August 2018, after an intervention organized by ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
In the comments, some people are criticizing Lopez for not "supporting her husband's recovery."
"They won't make it! If my husband was cured I would never drink! This is crazy," one user wrote.
However, others claimed that Lopez does not drink alcohol and may have simply been enjoying Affleck's drink.
Someone suggests another scenario:
"She never drinks alcohol before." J. Lo is tasting his drink to see if it's alcohol.”
And another joins the same idea:
"She is 100% controlling his drinking."
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck became engaged in April 2022 and married in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022. The couple first got engaged 20 years ago in 2002.
