The "Song Festival" also brought the performances of well-known artists, who sang in duets with other colleagues. Elsa Lila brought back the song "Pyes Lotin" after 25 years, in a duet with the rapper Capital T, but Valentin Veizi, the composer of the song, did not welcome this performance at all, claiming that they "made the song dirty".
After his public backlash, the song was deleted from Youtube. In an interview for "Euronews", Valentin Veizi said that he did not communicate with Elsa Lila, but "he felt pain when he saw the deformed song".
"They should have communicated with me about this opinion they had. I have no reason to talk to anyone, I'm not going to trade in phone conversations. I look at YouTube, my song on the screen, I listen to it with another author, a song that I am proud of. I said don't mess with me, actually it's more, it's pain. I would rather not have listened to it in fact, how bad I felt when I heard that song in that version that was brought", he said.
Valentini made it very clear that there is nothing personal in this matter, but he is talking about the phenomenon that damages Albanian art.
"Pyes Loti" takes X, Y, without permission and does it as it pleases. "I broke a bay leaf" is taken by another rapper; "For you, homeland" is taken by someone else. What remains? The Albanian song culture is changing, the damage is very strong. I'm not against the behavior in time, I have many songs that are behaved differently, but without changing the structure, and you have to be careful with this work. Untouchable, there are some things that are not touched. Don't touch them lest they burn you, don't touch the fire. You can take someone's land, that is, take them out of the house, but you can't take art," added the composer.
