The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has compiled its second annual list of the "best" villages around the world.
UNWTO is a United Nations agency that focuses on responsible tourism. 32 villages around the globe were selected, out of 136 submitted by 57 UNTWO member states.
The Better Tourism Villages initiative is a program that aims to combat rural depopulation, advance gender equality, innovation, infrastructure and investment, implementing sustainable tourism and reducing emissions and waste.
