Julie Bowen, known for her role as Claire in the famous series "Modern Family" has spoken openly about her sexuality.
The 52-year-old, in the "Quitters" podcast, revealed that even though she identifies as straight, at one point in her life, she was in love with a woman.
"I am staight. I always have been. For a period, I loved a woman, who did not love me back. She liked women, but not in that way," Julie clarified.
She added that she has never questioned or doubted her sexuality, although she has also spoken about her public relationship with singer Hayley Kiyoko, pausing to reveal a little more about the experience.
Hayley and I met and had that direct connection. I fell in love with him so quickly that I didn't ask: “What's the point of this? What is the denomination? Personally, I'm just attracted to people," added the actress, not wanting to label her sexual orientation.
"I hope people don't always come out in the open. What you do with your body shouldn't be the first thing people should know or care about - it's your business," she said, adding that life is complicated enough to add to the stress of coming out.
She emphasized that the process of falling in love is natural, beautiful and that people should not be accountable to anyone.
