Pfizer confirms it had not tested its 'mRNA' vaccine to prevent the transmission of Covid-19
Pfizer's head of international markets, Janine Small, testified yesterday at a hearing with the European Union in Brussels about the Covid 19 pandemic, in response to a question from Dutch MEP Robert Roos, whether her company's vaccine had been tested in relation to stopping the transmission of the SARS-COV2 virus.
According to the briefing published on the official EU Media Center website, she said that this had failed to happen and many officials are now trying to determine how her comments will affect public trust in scientific information in general and public health.
In the session, the director admitted that the vaccine had not been tested for its ability to stop the transmission of the virus, contrary to what was advertised for it.
"Regarding the question of whether we knew if we could stop immunization before we entered the market. No, we didn't know. We have to move at the speed of science to understand what happens in the market", said the representative of the vaccine company, justifying that she did not have time due to the competition.
After the session, MEP Roos started commenting on social networks, casting doubts on the logic of the EU governments' vaccination request, saying that "the main justification for vaccinating the population was based on a fiction".
